Holy Ground: 2025 Edition

This 12-week devotional accompanies camp staff through the summer, from the intensity of staff training through the exciting early weeks of programming, through the grind of mid-summer, to the bitter-sweet exhaustion of the closing weeks, and into the weeks following camp as staff members reintegrate into the rest of life. The devotions in Holy Ground include wisdom and reflections from dozens of current and former summer staff from many Christian traditions. Each week in the devotion section will include some opening encouragement and space for reflection as staff enter the new week. Daily devotions follow, with space for end-of-week reflections each week. This is designed to be an interactive resource, well-loved and oft-scribbled-on by the end of the summer.

The opening pages include short, high-impact reflections on various topics related to the foundations of camping ministry. These can be used during staff training as discussion starters or throughout the summer for reference to specific topics. They cover the 5 fundamental characteristics of Christian camps, staff mental health, seeding rhythms of faith for when campers go home, reading the Bible at camp, handling tough questions/doubt, and more. The third section has additional supportive content like Psalms to use in different situations, prayers to use at camp, and a post-summer Bible reading plan for staff.
